The payroll provider was in search of the best Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider to aid them in expanding their digital wallet product capabilities - as part of their promise to “Make Work Life Better” for their customers. To do so, they looked to enable instant wage payouts as well as other necessary money movement features.
Additionally, they looked to reduce the time it took an employee to complete their registration process into their proprietary payroll system with their employer.
After building a real-time payments solution with Berkeley, digital wallet users were able to easily request and receive instant wage payouts. From this partnership, the payroll provider was able to launch a fully-featured digital banking solution with branded cards in record time, at a fraction of the cost of building a proprietary solution.
The payroll provider partnered with Berkeley to offer fully-branded physical cards. These cards run through the Mastercard Network, and function as any regular debit or credit card. They look beautiful, work around the world at any Point-of-Sale or ATM, and support Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay mobile wallet integration.

Robust money movement functionality for features such as payroll deposits, real-time card funding, and ATM money withdrawals. All of these capabilities work identically to how a regular banking application operates, but are executed instantly, and are easily accessible to the cardholder on their application.
Berkeley’s Open API has enabled the payroll company to provide their cardholders with EFT transfer capabilities, directly through their application. This allows cardholders to move money from one account to another electronically.
Berkeley built out the payroll provider’s Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform to enable their customers to move money through a digital wallet application without requiring a third-party integration. With Berkeley by their side, the company was able to easily offer their customers payroll deposits direct to a user’s fully-branded physical card. Full money movement functionality was also added, enabling cards to be used like any debit or credit card through the Mastercard network.
Berkeley Payments helped create a disbursements program to pay out direct wages to GoSales’ vendors on behalf of their Telecom customers.
